Our #CommonGroundCLE Conversations guest blog series showcases groups across Cuyahoga County hosting community conversations July 30 as part of our Common Ground initiative. Find out what Burten, Bell, Carr Development, Inc. is planning for their Common Ground conversation in this guest blog from the organization.
Come out to CornUcopia Place on July 30, 2017 for a conversation over a meal with the community. Hosted by Burten, Bell, Carr Development, Inc., the discussion will continue The City Club of Cleveland’s June 27 conversation For the Love of Cleveland: Too Many Houses, Not Enough Homes, where Burten, Bell, Carr Executive Director Tim Tramble participated on the panel. During the panel, Tramble explained that “ultimately, our role as a community development corporation is to implement the vision and plan for the community.” For Kinsman, this vision and plan is to create a sustainable, inclusive community.
To realize this vision for the neighborhood, communication and discussion about the future is needed. Common Ground: Re-Envisioning Kinsman will focus on the needs of the residents of the community. Come out to discuss how climate change is going to effect the community and the need for residents to practice healthy eating and active living. A healthy community begins with healthy residents. The discussion will also tackle education needs in the neighborhood and how the Kinsman MyCom can support youth development. Along with personal development, the discussion will also focus on physical development through housing and the new traffic plans for Kinsman Road. Through a holistic approach, Burten, Bell, Carr looks to help develop the residents and the neighborhood, and hopes this discussion will follow the same path. Help create a sustainable and inclusive community by participating in this Common Ground conversation.
