Now Recruiting: 2015 Summer Interns

For 16 years, the Cleveland Foundation Summer Internship program has stayed true to its goal of connecting undergraduate and graduate students with meaningful, career-related experiences in nonprofit and public sector agencies. The program adds value to the agencies by recruiting the talent and providing the funding to pay interns who conduct and complete important projects in our community.

In early October, we issued a call to organizations to apply to host a 2015 summer intern. From the pool of more than 60 nonprofit and public sector applications, we selected 16 internship experiences. The 16 projects showcase the depth, breadth and diversity of Cleveland’s nonprofit sector. Sites include the arts with MOCA Cleveland, education with Cleveland Transformation Alliance, economic development with the City of Cleveland and vacant land reuse with the Cuyahoga Land Bank. One intern will also experience transportation advocacy for cyclists with Bike Cleveland.

If you are a college student, graduate student or recent college graduate and can answer yes to all of the following questions, please consider applying:

  • Are you looking for career-related work experience that could build your resume, skills and network?
  • Are you a college junior, senior or graduate student or have you graduated from college within the last year?
  • Were you enrolled at a college or university in Cuyahoga, Lake, or Geauga county or are you a resident of Cuyahoga, Lake, or Geauga county?
  • Do you have an interest in the nonprofit or public sector?

The deadline to apply is Jan. 30, 2015, and the program runs from June 1 to Aug. 15. Visit our site for full list of 2015 host sites and to access our online application instructions. You can also check out blog posts from our past interns. We look forward to seeing your application!

    Hello there,

I currently attend Oberlin College and was wondering if I would be able to apply or not because although it is close to the counties above it is in Lorain County

    Shavonne,

Thank you for your interest in the Summer Internship Program. If your home address is in Cuyahoga, Lake or Geauga counties, you are eligible to apply. However, if you currently attend Oberlin College and do not have a home address in the above eligible counties, you are not eligible to apply.

    Thank you,

    Hello there
I will be studying abroad this spring semester (January -Late May) and if I make it to the interview round of candidates would there be a possibility I can do a Skype interview?
