Lake-Geauga Fund – 2008 Grants

  • Scholarships – $135,000
    These grants provide scholarship support for students from Lake and Geauga counties. Included is a $104,000 grant to Ohio’s eight medical schools for scholarship assistance to third- and fourth-year students who graduated from high school in Lake or Geauga counties or whose parents resided in Lake or Geauga counties when the students graduated from high school, as well as a $31,000 grant to the Lakeland Foundation to support students at Lakeland Community College.
  • The Fund for Our Economic Future – $100,000
    This grant supports operation of The Fund for Our Economic Future, a collaboration of philanthropic organizations and individuals that have united to strengthen the economic competitiveness of Northeast Ohio through grantmaking, research, and civic engagement
  • Crossroads: Lake County Adolescent Counseling Service – $75,000
    This grant supports a community needs assessment and a financial analyst position.
  • Lake-Geauga Educational Assistance Foundation – $72,750
    This grant supports scholarship awards to Painesville-area high school seniors and returning sophomore and junior college students, as well as the Storrs Fund scholarship program.
  • Catholic Charities Community Services Corp – $70,000
    This grant supports the "Families of Incarcerated Persons: Families of Promise" program.
  • City of Mentor – $50,000
    This grant supports the installation of a solar concentrator array adjacent to the Mentor Senior Center.
  • University Hospitals Health System Geauga Regional Hospital – $40,000
    This grant supports the Stroke Accreditation project.
  • Geauga County Educational Service Center – $37,494
    This grant supports the Literacy Coaching for Sustained School Improvement program.
  • Senior Independence – $35,000
    This grant supports the implementation of the Advance Care Planning program.
  • Berea Children's Home & Family Services – $25,000
    This grant supports the Freedom School Partnership project at Lakeland Community College.
  • Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center – $25,000
    This grant supports the Gaitway expansion project.
  • Leadership Geauga County – $20,380
    This grant supports the Leadership Geauga Youth Program.
  • City of Painesville – $15,000
    This grant supports the implementation of the Main Street Program.
  • Forbes House – $15,000
    This grant supports flood damage repairs and mold removal.
  • Leadership Lake County – $15,000
    This grant supports strategic planning.
  • Painesville Adult Basic and Literacy Education Program – $12,485
    This grant supports the Adult Summer Literacy Program.
  • Lake County Soil & Water Conservation District – $10,300
    This grant supports an economic impact study of the nursery industry in Lake County.
  • Project Hope for the Homeless – $10,200
    This grant supports an intake specialist position.
  • Family Pride of Northeast Ohio – $10,000
    This grant supports a program coordinator position.
  • Lake Erie College – $10,000
    This grant provides scholarship support.
